Mermaids / Sirenas

Do you know what you’re supposed
to do to meet a mermaid?

You go down to the bottom of the sea,
where the water isn’t even blue any more,
and the sky is only a memory.
You float there, in the silence
and you stay there and you decide
that you’ll die for them.
Only then do they start coming out.
They come and they greet you,
and judge the love you have for them.
If it’s sincere, if it’s pure,
they’ll be with you.
And take you away for ever.

Un cuento de sirenas

¿Saben lo que tienen que hacer
para encontrar una sirena?

Bajas al fondo del mar,
donde el agua ya ni siquiera es azul,
y el cielo es tan sólo un recuerdo.
Flotas allí, en el silencio
y te quedas allí. Y decides
que morirás por ellas.
Sólo entonces empiezan a salir.
Vienen y te saludan
y calibran el amor que les tienes.
Si es sincero, si es puro,
se quedarán contigo.
Y te llevarán con ellas para siempre
